Xero to QuickBooks Online Integration migration - Task list

In this article, we'll go over the steps required from you, the client, to ensure a smooth migration of Xero>QuickBooks Online

Important - Please read before you proceed!

Because Xero will be removed as your accounting integration in Loft, that connection to Xero will be broken and essentially gone, like a closed road. All  transactions prior to your migration can not be pulled back out of Xero, therefore, the following can not be done for all deals pre-migration:

  1. Changes or corrections to deals
  2. Removing transactions

It's important to know this because if you're planning on switching to QuickBooks Online for a certain date, you will need to make sure all your deals are correct in Loft and if not, make any corrections to those deals before your migration date.  Also, any deals prior to migration can not be batched to QuickBooks Online.

Subscribe to QuickBooks Online.

Your account must be Plus or Advanced subscription level.

QuickBooks preparation tasks

In Settings>Advanced

  1. Ensure G/L numbers are turned on
  2. Identify whether you are using Class or Location (one must be turned on)
  3. Confirm your Office(s) is set up in Lists (for Class or Location).  You can view your offices on your Brokerage page, make sure they're spelled exactly alike in QuickBooks Online

  1. Ensure your current G/L Bank accounts, Mapping accounts & G/Ls used in Deduction Templates are set up in QuickBooks Onli, so that we can map from the Xero general ledger account to the QuickBooks online general ledger account. You can export your current COA / GL list from Xero, reformat and import to QuickBooks Online  To export your COA out of Xero, https://central.xero.com/s/article/Export-or-print-your-chart-of-accounts  To import your COA : https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/import-chart-accounts-quickbooks-online/L9Res1eb1_US_en_US   
  2. If applicable, Tax accounts must be set up (CDN clients only)

Things to note

Don't load your agent list into QuickBooks Online, the first Loft47>QuickBooks Online Sync will load the agents (as mentioned in the Xero vx QuickBooks Online integration article, QuickBooks Online requires 2 contacts for each agent, Loft47 will insert an asterisk before the agent 'customer'  A/R contacts profile)

Invite Loft

Once everything on this list has been completed, invite lofttechnologies@loft47.com as an Admin (not accounting admin). This is the trigger for us to schedule development to run the accounting conversion.  Please note the migration can take up anywhere from 24 to 48 hours after being scheduled.
