Adding Buyer/Seller in Loft47

Adding Buyer/Seller in Loft47

To improve privacy and ensure agents only have access to appropriate client records, Loft47 uses Buyer/Seller contact types to identify client contacts who are involved in transactions.  A contact must have the Buyer/Seller contact type before they can be selected as a Buyer or Seller on a deal.

You can add Buyer/Seller contacts in two ways:
            1. Create the contact directly from
Deal > People when adding them to a deal.
            2. Create the contact first from
Brokerage > People, then return to the deal and select the contact.

Add a Buyer/Seller Contact from a Deal

  1. Go to Deal > People.
  2. Click New to create a new contact profile.

    3. Enter the contact’s information.
     4. Select Role as Buyer or Seller.

     5. Select the appropriate side:  Sell for Buyers and List for Sellers
      6. Under Type, if a contact is added as a Buyer or Seller, the system will automatically mark the contact type as Buyer or Seller.
      7.
Complete any additional contact information.
      8. Click Save.

The contact will now be available to select as a Buyer or Seller on the deal.

Add a Buyer/Seller Contact from Brokerage > People

If you want to create the contact before adding them to a deal:

  1. Go to Brokerage > People.
  2. Click New.

  3. Enter the contact’s information.
  4. Under Type, select BUYER/SELLER.
  5. Complete the remaining contact details.

  6. Click Save.

Once created, return to the deal and select the contact from the Buyer or Seller field on the Deal > People page. Assign their role as BUYER or SELLER to complete adding them to the deal.

Key notes:

-      Contacts previously used on a deal as a Buyer or Seller have automatically been updated to the Buyer/Seller contact type.
-      New contacts added as a Buyer or Seller on a deal will automatically be assigned the Buyer/Seller contact type.
-      A contact must have the Buyer/Seller contact type before they can be selected as a Buyer or Seller on a deal.
-      If a contact has never been used as a Buyer or Seller on a deal, create a new Buyer/Seller contact profile from Deal > People
          or
Brokerage > People.
Alternatively, you can update the existing contact and change the contact type to Buyer/Seller to avoid creating a duplicate contact.
-      Contacts with other roles (such as Agent or Lawyer) cannot be converted to Buyer/Seller because these roles serve different purposes in Loft47.
-      Contacts created as buyers or sellers from integrations (ie: rechat, Skyslope) are created as buyer/seller profiles.
-      For Xero/QBO they are still treated the same as before.
-      Why are Buyer/Seller contact types important? Buyer/Seller contact types work together with your brokerage's Agents Can See settings to control which client records agents can access. This helps ensure agents only see the clients they should have access to.  For more information, see Agent Access & Permissions – Agents Can See.
