Agent Reporting Office and Secondary Office Workaround

Agent Reporting Office and Secondary Office Workaround

Agent can only be active in one office at a time.

If an agent has ever been active in another office (with one office active and another inactive), a newly created deal will automatically be assigned to the agent’s active reporting office.

If you need to change the office for a specific deal, you can do so from the People page within the deal:

  1. Open the deal and go to the People page.
  2. Click the edit pencil next to the agent.
  3. Manually change the agent’s office to the other inactive office.

The requirement for this workaround is that the main office is set as the active reporting office, with the secondary office set as inactive.

If the new office will become the agent’s main/default office

If the new office will be the agent’s main or default office going forward, you can simply add a new reporting office by following these instructions:

Switch Agent Reporting Offices

If the office is only a secondary office used from time to time

Follow these steps:

  1. Record which deductions are currently allocated on the agent’s profile and any agent-specific overrides. Keep this information handy.
  2. Note the start date of the agent’s current active reporting office (for example, June 12, 2023).
  3. Deactivate the current/default reporting office as of today.
  4. You will see an option to create a new reporting office. Add the secondary office.
  5. Reporting office dates cannot overlap. Set the secondary office’s start date a few days or months before the start date of the office you want to remain the default. For example, if the default office started June 12, 2023, you could use any date on or before June 10, 2023.
  6. Set the secondary office to become inactive the day before the default office’s start date. In this example, you could use June 11, 2023.
  7. You should now have two inactive offices for the agent.
  8. Go to the office you want to be the default again and remove the inactive date.
  9. That office will once again be the agent’s default reporting office. Add back the correct deduction templates if needed.
  10. Once this is complete, you can go to any deal, open the People page, and manually update the agent’s reporting office if it isn't the default office.
